About Kitchener-Waterloo Multicultural Centre

In 1967, a dedicated group of newcomers to Canada came together to establish the K-W Folk Arts Council and inaugurate the inaugural Multicultural Festival in Kitchener-Waterloo. Over the years, the organization’s mission expanded to encompass providing vital support and assistance to newcomers in our community, as well as offering interpretation and translation services to both public and private sector clients.

Today, the Centre delivers a comprehensive range of services to thousands of clients across Waterloo Region and beyond. Additionally, it continues to proudly host one of Canada’s largest Multicultural Festivals annually.

As a non-profit registered charity, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the numerous funders who generously support our initiatives.

The Centre is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, elected from and by our diverse general membership, ensuring that our operations remain community-driven and responsive to the needs of those we serve.
